Rooted in Wonder

Our Commitment to Growth

At Wildroot, we believe every child can become independent, happy, capable, healthy, creative, and confident — and that the research already tells us a great deal about how. Founded by an AMI-trained Montessori educator with a background in school administration and restorative practices, and guided by a 7-member advisory board holding multiple advanced degrees — including licensed clinical social workers, pediatricians, school administrators, and teachers, with experience spanning public, charter, parochial, and Montessori education — Wildroot draws on Montessori philosophy across all four planes of development, neurodivergent and special education support, social-emotional learning, and research-informed practices from cultures around the world. Every resource here is built to give parents and educators something rarer than good intentions: real, cited evidence behind the advice.

Global Research-Informed Practice

Grounded in AMI Montessori philosophy across all four planes of development, from childhood through adolescence.

Respectful strategies for autism and ADHD — reframing behavior as communication, not a problem to manage.

Circle practice, co-regulation, and positive discipline built on the belief that connection comes before correction.

Drawing on cited research from around the world — with honest distinctions between evidence and unproven ideas.

Meet Austyn

Long before Wildroot had a name, our founder, Austyn, was the teacher who stayed late reworking a single classroom shelf until it was right — convinced that the small, deliberate details are how you tell a child you belong here, and you're capable. Spending years alongside children taught her that they rarely need to be fixed. They need adults who know how to watch, wait, and prepare the ground.

Wildroot grew straight out of that belief. After years in the classroom and in school leadership, Austyn wanted to hand other teachers and parents the tools she'd spent a career refining — minus the jargon, the guilt, and the guesswork. Her training in Montessori, Restorative Practices, Cognitive Coaching SEL-Facilitation, and mindfulness and yoga,  isn't a list of add-ons to her; it's simply how she's learned to be with children and adults in a way that makes everything else possible.

She works quietly and on purpose, letting the resources  do the talking. The one thing she'll tell you every time: Wildroot was never a solo effort. It stands on the support of the advisers who shape this work, and it's made for the families and educators who trust their children to people like her.

Rooted in wonder. Built for independence.
